On the long run, it depends on who the closeness of the person to me.
Honestly, it’s a decision for the friend to make. If she/he is willing to spend that much to come to my wedding, that’s beautiful, and if she/he feels they’d rather send that much money to me, that’s great as well. Either of the two gestures will be well appreciated.
