When Vera opened the note that Josh slipped across the table from her, he had written “Call me,” and attached his number along with it.

Vera did not hesitate to call him when she got home, because getting that kind of note from him not only answered her heart’s desire, it also meant that he also felt the chemistry and spark between them. After the first call, the communication between Vera and Josh became frequent, which wasn’t strange considering the fact that they had hit it off at the bank already.

Vera did not think of the age and status gap between her and Josh. None of those things mattered to her, as long as what she felt was being reciprocated. She did not question why a young man, fully established in himself would be interested in having anything to do with her romantically.

Instead, Vera felt like a lucky princess.

Not only that, she also felt as though she was above her peers, because most times, especially for younger girls, dating “men” outside their league, or social circle, or the age bracket of the boyfriends of their friends was a huge flex. It must have meant that there was something really special about you.

Their time spent on phone calls increased, and in no time, Josh asked Vera to be his girlfriend. Before the words even came out of Josh’s mouth, Vera had already accepted his proposal, prepared for a blissful ride.
