Chronicles of a Lover Boy 7

Season Two

Episode One…A New Girl

After the whole drama with Abida and with Adams barely patching up the pieces of his shattered heart, he vowed never to fall in love again. He was done with the dating thing; one terribly failed attempt at it was enough to reach that firm decision.

However, Adams’s friends had other plans for him.

His friends introduced Adams to a girl who lived in the same community with Adams named Agatha. Adams did not refuse the hookup, and soon enough, he and this new girl got talking. Not only were they talking, Adams and Agatha spent a couple of times in each other’s company as they would meet up from time to time. Adams was still suffering from the pain and heartbreak that Abida put him through, and he knew deep down that he did not want anything to do with Agatha, but Adams could not bring himself to disappointing his friends and turning Agatha’s friendliness down.

Communication between Adams and Agatha came naturally, and Adams found himself spending hours and days talking to her. Nevertheless, Adams kept his heart guarded. He had already built a brick wall around his fragile heart and there was no going back. Despite the fact that he and Agatha talked often, Adams did not feel any form of romantic connection with her.

He refused to let himself feel any form of romantic connection with her; once bitten, a hundred times shy.

With the way Adams and Agatha carried on, it was safe to say that they were in a talking stage; one that Adams felt pushed to involve in. Unlike what he had with Abida, his friends knew Agatha; they introduced her to him after all, and in no time, Agatha’s friends also became Adam’s friends. Adams knew without a doubt that Agatha liked him; it had been a couple of weeks that they had maintained constant communication, so falling for Adams was not abnormal. He did not need anyone to spell out the words that this girl liked him a lot, because it was evident in the way she acted around Adams, but he could not reciprocate her feelings.

Fast forward to a few months later, Adams reluctantly entered into a relationship with Agatha. In all honesty, Adams was not interested in being in a relationship with Agatha, regardless of how long they had been in the talking stage, but somehow someway, he found himself dating Agatha. In fact, just like Christians have been instructed to “guard their hearts with diligence” in the Bible, Adams diligently secured his heart fiercely and jealously from feeling anything remotely close to love for Agatha.

Relationship had been the expected outcome of their friendship, and so a relationship was what came out from the talking stage with Agatha.

  1. Adams will soon fall unknowingly,

when you spend a lot of time with someone you tend to develop feelings for that person whether you like it or no…
