BEAUTY AND THE BOYS 5

Season Two

Episode Two…

A while later, Vera and Tomiwa reconciled their differences, after all, they had been friends way before Henry came into the picture, so it did not seem ideal to call off their friendship simply because Vera became friends with Tomiwa’s boyfriend, even though she cut through corners to achieve that.

Also, shortly after that, Tomiwa and Henry ended their relationship.

Meanwhile, Vera and Henry remained in touch, and with Tomiwa out of the way, there was now more than enough room for the “friendship” to blossom. Vera got to realize that Tomiwa did not lie in her descriptions of Henry; he was a sweet boy. Even though they were friends, Henry’s sweetness was more than enough to go round.

So it was not hard for Vera to fall for him.

Anyway, they kept at it for a while, and you know what they say about spending time with the opposite gender. Besides, there is always a lingering feeling when a boy and girl have taken themselves as “besties”. Whether it was Henry who decided to give it time, or Vera, we cannot tell, but neither of them spoke about their growing feelings for each other until much later.

By this time, Tomiwa had moved on, or so they believed, so the guilt of getting into a relationship with Tomiwa’s ex-boyfriend did not sit in Vera’s heart at all. Anyway, regardless of how often Henry and Vera communicated, they never talked about Tomiwa; it was as though she never existed, and Vera never bothered to ask the reason for their breakup, and after the confrontation and reconciliation, Vera and Tomiwa never revisited the topic.

Vera’s constant communication with Henry – calls and text messages – eventually paid off as soon enough, they both found themselves in a relationship, exchanging love text messages, stealing a few moments to see each other once in a while, and having lengthy phone conversations. What Vera saw in Chidi as chattering and talking too much, she saw as very sweet and endearing with Henry.

When you dislike/don’t like somebody, it doesn’t matter what the person does, it’ll always be faulty before your eyes. See Vera!!
