Chronicles of a Lover Boy 4

Season One

Episode Four…

The next morning, Adams received a text message on his phone from this friend of his. In the chat that ensued between them, Adams’s friend said he did see the girl, but first, are they dating? Recall that Adams and Abida have kept their relationship completely private, even from their closest friends. Adams asked him why he was asking, and the friend insisted on the question; are you guys dating? Be honest with me. Knowing that he would not get the information he desired without stating the true answer to that question, Adams eventually admitted to his friend that yes, he and Abida are dating, but then he begged his friend not to tell anyone about it.

His friend agreed to this, and he told Adams that he wants to tell Adams something about the girl that he saw. Adams’s heart raced, but he braced himself for whatever news was coming to hit him; it couldn’t be that bad, right? Adams was purely innocent at heart, this was his first relationship, and he was deeply in love with her, and she loved him right back, so…

Anyway, his friend revealed to Adams that Abida, the love of Adams’s life slept over in the room of one of the male wedding guests, and that there was every possibility that they had sex. Adams’s heart was shaken, but that wasn’t all. His friend then gave him the back story of Abida and this wedding guest.

According to his friend, this wedding guest used to live around their area before he moved out of the state to either Abuja or Lagos, he wasn’t exactly sure, but when he lived around, he and Abida were an item. This was way before Adams and Abida got together. So technically, when he came back to town for the wedding, he and Abida reconnected, and she spent the entire night in his room. Therefore, all the while Adams was worrying his head about his girlfriend not being back home from the wedding and dreading the thought that something bad might have happened to her, she was having a good time with her ex-boyfriend. Well, since Adams was still obeying daddy’s rules and running back home to avoid punishment for going out, Abida fell into the arms of a “real guy”.

Adams’s friend went ahead to expressly tell Adams that “This girl you are dating is wilder than you think o. She will sell you o.” Adams’s world came crashing down. However, Adams refused to believe the words of his friend. His girlfriend could not do such a thing. Adams vehemently defended Abida, determined to prevent his friend from defaming her character, and still leaning on a tiny rope of hope that they were lies. In order to see this to the end and ensure that he was not spreading false news, Adams’s friend told Adams that if Adams thinks he is lying about what just told him, Adams should come over. Adams got dressed and went.

Adams’s friend took him to the room this wedding guest passed the night – and even still there at that time, and the first thing that caught Adams’s eyes was Abida’s pair of slippers – the ones the wore to the wedding the day before – right in front of the guy’s door. Then almost instantly, Abida’s moaning sounds from inside the room filtered into Adams’s ears, clearing all doubts.

This was about 3pm.
