Chronicles of a Lover Boy 1

Adams

Season One

Episode One…Abida

A person’s first emotional heartbreak is usually heartrending, filled with intense anguish, despair and hopelessness, and sometimes, unexplainable rollercoaster of emotions even. It can send one’s world crashing down, and during the period of nursing this unpleasant feeling that keeps the heart clutched in pains, the world becomes a dark place. For some, the pain lingers, and for others, a shorter period of time. Anyway, as time goes on, and as they begin to get in and out of relationships, the heart gets accustomed to the art of letting go.

Some people are lucky enough to experience their first heartbreak early on in life, like Adams, while some people experience this at an older age. Whichever way, it is one of the things that is mostly inevitable in life.

Adams was in SS 2 when he fell in love for the first time. Back then, they had this neighbor with whom they shared the same fence. Her name was Abida. She always came to Adam’s house to watch his mother sew clothes, because at that time, she indicated interest in the fashion field, and she would stay from morning till evening. Abida was not only older than Adams, but she was also more exposed and experienced. They became special friends, and because of Adams, Abida would linger in their house later than usual. Abida was the first girl Adams was literally talking to, which made him shy at the initial stage of their friendship, but being older and more exposed, she made things less difficult for him. They would each sneak out of their houses at 7:30 every evening, perch themselves on the fence and spend some time together until it was bedtime…as friends.

As time went on and they continued this rendezvous, Adams started to develop strong feelings for Abida, which was expected considering the fact that she was the only female in his life now, and the amount of stolen times they spent together every evening. Adams could not help falling for Abida, even though he knew that she was a Muslim, and that is a no-go area for their family, but then again, they were just friends. Abida hadn’t said anything to Adams, and neither had he.

Then without caution, disregarding reasons why he should not, Adams fell deeply in love with Abida, and he hoped deep down in his heart that she felt the same…
